It's endorsement season!

It's time for endorsements! Our endorsement meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 9am-1pm at the LGBT Center. We're participating in the San Francisco Democratic Party's Endorsement Palooza, and we have been assigned to room 301. Campaigns will have 5 minutes to speak and 5 minutes for Q&A. You can view candidate and ballot measure questionnaires on our website.

The meeting is open to all, but voting Members in Good Standing will have the opportunity to ask candidates and ballot measure representatives questions during the Q&A. You also get to vote! Voting will be available throughout the day, and for the first time this year, we are allowing absentee voting online.

How to vote absentee: Email vote@d5dems.org and request a ballot. All ballots must be submitted no later than 8am on August 29, and our system is set up to ensure that your ballot will be anonymous.

We will send out a schedule of speakers closer to the event. You can view the agenda for the meeting here.

Don't Miss the Circus!

Thank you to all of the clubs who cosponsored our Democratic Club Unity Mixer last week -- we had a blast, and hope you did too! We are also very happy to welcome three new members to the Executive Board: Corey Smith is now our Vice Chair of the Communications Committee, Alfredo Fletes is taking on the role of Vice Chair of the Membership Committee, and Cynthia Crews has joined as Vice Chair of Issues & Actions Committee. Thank you to all three for your dedication to the District 5 Democratic Club!

And now, the Main Event: This week, we get to turn our attention to the Republican Circus! We've teamed up with the San Francisco Democratic Party to cohost the Republican Debate and Circus Watch Party on Thursday night. Please buy a ticket and join for the fun! The Donald will be there in his best piñata attire.

Reminder - 2 days until Dem clubs unite

Your're invited to the Circus!

The Republican Circus is headed to live TV! Just when you thought Donald Trump couldn't be any more outrageous or offensive, the Republicans and Fox News (yes, this Fox News) decided to hold a circus with their ten best candidates to show off exactly how ridiculous and out of touch they are with America.

So, we're teaming up with the San Francisco Democratic Party on August 6 to cohost the

Republican Debate and Circus Watch Party!
